Auf gemeinsamen Pfaden …
Ihre Wege haben sich in den letzten Jahren mehrmals gekreuzt und nun sind die beiden auf gemeinsamen Weg.
In der Jazzreihe „JAZZFOYER“ haben sie 2 Konzerte gespielt, sich dabei näher kennengelernt und letztlich dadurch zueinander gefunden.
Mit großem Respekt begegnen sich Mark Wise und Christian Dietkron musikalisch als auch menschlich. Seit Anfang 2014 machen sie gemeinsame Sache und das mit sehr viel Spaß. Ihr Repertoire ist bestückt mit americana Songs aus der Feder von Mark Wise.
Die Songs erhalten durch ihre fruchtbare Zusammenarbeit neue erfrischende Arrangements.
Mark Wise:
I grew up in Los Angeles California in the late 1950’s and the decade of the 1960’s.
I played in my first band when I was 14 or 15 yrs old. My friends and I listened to everything…Folk music, Blues, Rock&Roll of course, and we tried to play it all..
Los Angeles radio offered a wide variety of musical styles. You could hear Chuck Berry, Bob Dylan, Motown stuff, The Beatles of course.
We heard all that and later, as 17, 18 yr. olds, we went to the Jazz clubs in Hollywood or Hermosa Beach and heard some of the best players of that music as well. In 1971 I moved up north to Sebastopol California, a small town about 100 miles north of San Francisco. Some friends and I opened a music club there. I was in charge of booking the bands.
I heard real country music for probably the first time in my life, and I met some wonderful artists who made their livings playing music..
All of these early influences contribute to the songs I write. It’s the reason that I can’t really say what kind of music it is exactly…Singer/Songwriter I guess, because I do both of those things…
I have been very fortunate to have played and collaborated with some very talented musicians, both in America and here in Germany/Switzerland…
One of my favorite things about writing my own material is presenting it to good players and encouraging them to put their own ideas and interpratations to it..
My partner in this latest project, Christian Dietkron, is a gifted guitar player with a backround in jazz, and ears for everything.. He has a talent for finding a part, or changing a harmony that really helps give the songs new life…
Ginger Gee on bass, has been with me on and off for almost 20 yrs.
He has played everthing and has great feel.
Olivia Scheer, 17 year old, a new singing discovery, sings the way you’re supposed to..With a lovely tone and a talent for telling the story…
I am very pleased to have them all working with me..
It’s a real good band.
